Wilmington Star News 11/27/07: Roof Donated to Habitat for Humanity

WILMINGTON -- Wilmington-based Advanced Metal Roofing has donated a roof to a home owner in need.

Roof construction on a home in Rocky Point began on Tuesday and should be completed by Wednesday.

Construction on the home started back in October and the home is expected to be completed by the end of January.

All the construction is part of a Habitat for Humanity project.

A single mother will be moving in to the house. As part of the deal for getting the new home, the mother had to put in 250 hours of construction work herself.

"Not only are we out here volunteering our services as members of the community, and other contractors are, but people living here are going to be involved hands on in making it a real home for themselves," said Tony of Advanced Metal Roofing.

This is the second consecutive year that Advanced Metal Roofing has donated a roof.
